My first visit to Thacher Island was in Spring of 2001. Having photographed the shorelines, quarries, woodlands & wetlands of Rockport and Cape Ann. I felt transported to another world as soon as I set foot on the landing ramp of the "Twin Lights."

Lot of seagulls, lot of rock, wild water, and a great group of people - The Thacher Island Association - dedicated to preservation, restoration and safe access to an amazing resource. These photos run the gamut from "Views from the Towers" and building to my personal favorites - the tidal pools on the ocean side. You'll swear your on the Pacific Coast in Oregon. (And the water temperature is not that much warmer here.)
